This trek brings you right into the heart of the Annapurna Mountains and returns via a small circuit route that delivers fantastic mountain views of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and Dhaulagiri.  You will get to learn about people of different ethnicities, especially the Gurung People. During Spring the trekkers are rewarded with beautiful blossoms along with Dense forests of  Rhododendron - The National Flower of Nepal.

During the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, you will encounter high gushes of waterfalls. Orchids, The Machhapuchhre massif, and the Modi Khola valley with its memorable hot water spring at Jhinu Danda will accompany you on the trek.

When is the best time to trek to Annapurna Base Camp? 

The best time to trek the Annapurna Base Camp is during the peak seasons. Trekking in Autumn (September – November ) is best just after the monsoon. Blue sky and green with the best scenery. Spring (Mar – May) second best time which is considered to be pre-monsoon and before winter respectively. 

The weather is mildly hot during the day while hiking and cold at night depending on the altitude. There is also less chance of rain during this time and you will like to get clear days consecutively which is perfect for hiking. However, the area is crowded in peak seasons. People still trek in winter (Dec – Feb). Trekking in Monsoon (June – August) is best for botanical keens but rain may affect your trek. The trail is quiet at this time.

This 7 Days Annapurna Base Camp itinerary is short version and good only for used to trekkers, so we always suggest you to allow few spare days if you need enough time to make it smoothly. Fast ascend may cause acute mountain sickness and it is always good to have some buffer days while trekking Himalaya in Nepal so you can trek with peace of mind. 

An hour of scenic drive takes us at Kande from where we commence the walk. An hour of uphill trek brings us at beautiful place of Australian camp where we have tea/water break with outstanding view of Annapurna range. The continue the trip toward Tolka via Pritam Deurali from here the trail goes down for half an hour to Bheri Kharka, cross a small stream and short off road walk to beautiful village of Tolka .

A pleasant trail goes to Landruk with eye catching view of Annapurna South and Hiuchuli, we take a gradual downhill trail through Modi Khola then trek via Jhinu Danda where we come to cross a amazing long suspension bridge then serious uphill for some 45 to 1 hour walk takes us at beautiful  village of Chhomrong, the path descends to Khimti Khola on stone paved trail then final trek up to Sinuwa.

Walk through the forest of bamboo, oaks and rhododendron trees. After an hour of walk; we get to Bamboo where there are four mountain lodges provide meals and rooms for trekkers. We take short break and continue toward Deuralu following the Modi Khola valley, now the altitude gains higher and higher, and air is thinner. Gentle walk is always recommended to not get sick of Acute Mountain Sickness.

Walk toward Annapurna Base Camp from Deurali, as soon as we leave the lodge, now view becomes better,  we see giant mountains of Machhapuchhre and Gangapurna. After walking some 2 hours we reach at MBC (Machhapuchhre Base Camp). Upon taking a tea break we walk to Annapurna Base Camp another 2 to 3 hours slowly. The view unbelievable as you see 360 degree mountain view from ABC. Overnight at Annapurna BC

After enjoying the sunrise view with hot tea at Annapurna BC; we take the breakfast and retrace back to Bamboo for overnight stop. It is the entire way long climb down, nearly 2000 meters, but we make it in 6 to 7 hours including short breaks for tea and lunch. Bamboo is much warmer tonight.

Trek to Sinuwa then to Chhomrong for lunch break. Our journey continues to Ghandruk. Todays day includes ups and downs. It takes some 6 to 7 hours of walk to our destination of Ghandruk from Bamboo.

FAQs

Well, this is a short version of Annapurna Base Camp trek. Usuall and traditional Annapurna Base Camp trek is 10 days long via Poon Hill. Annapurna Base Camp Trek route covers around 125 km and you will be walking 10 to 18 km each day. This trail is a popular one and is usually packed with trekkers from all over the world. The trekking trails are easier on this trek.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek requires 7 to 11 days depending on one’s tour program and length of walking days. The tour offered here takes 7 days, starting from Syauli Bazaar (a 2.5 hours drive from Pokhara) and going north-east up to Ghandruk and the famous Gurung village in Annapurna.

The answer is :yes or no" It depends on which season you are trekking to the Annapurna base camp. There is no snow at base camp around the year. But if you are trekking between December to March; most often there is snow. While raining in lower places; there is snowfall in the mountains in winter. Bad weather cause snowfall above 2500 mater and Annapurna BC is much higher at the elevation of 4130 meter that means there is much snow sometimes if any heavy snow falls.  It might rain in the lower region and there is snowfall at the Himalayas there are no certain time of winter rain in Nepal so it can be any time between October to March and sometimes till beginning of April.
