Trip Summary

Begin this 2-day short trek to Chitlang Markhu Lake, followed by a short drive to Matatirtha, a famous Hindu shrine. Once we reach there, the hiking starts towards the Chandragiri Hill top. The hill itself offers superb panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan giants ranging from Gauri Shankar to Annapurna. Chandragiri Hill lately has become a fascinating tourist destination thanks to the establishment of cable cars. The next stop on the hike is Chitlang, an ancient Newari settlement in Makwanpur district. Different artistic monuments, pagoda roofs, and exceptional craftsmanship around the place offer a fascinating attraction. We then continue our hike all the way to Kulekhani on the second day. This place is famous for Indrasarovar, the largest manmade lake near Kathmandu. Boating and fishing like activities have attracted visitors here for years. After this, we drive our way back to Kathmandu.
