Trek to Nagi village and Mohare Danda, surrounded by the best view of Annapurna region, is absolutely a new experience to the alternative route of Ghorepani for the trekkers that support Magar communities. It’s focuses on forming sustainable economic stability by encouraging tourism potentialities and possibilities in this area. Exploring the unknown region, trekkers can enjoy the wonderful culture, nature, welcoming people and spectacular view of the longest chains of mountains. Mohare Danda (3300 m) is the closest point to view the massive Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The Mohare Danda trekking is the perfect alternative to the overcrowded Ghorepani Poonhill trekking.
Mohare Danda is the high-road alternative to the Ghorepani trek and follows an alternative trail from Pokhara itself up to Banskharka, along with Nangi and Mohare. The treks are along scented forests of oak, rhododendron, and spruce, and sometimes along exposed ridges that offer exhilarating views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna south, dead ahead, and the forked summit of Machhapuchhare to the east. You have a long circuit lasting a week to Dhankharka, or you can do a shorter five-day version of fast-tracking through Tikot or end your trek at Patichar via Lespar. Itinerary
Expand allAn hour and a half drive takes us to Nayapul, ~ the starting point of our trek. From here we take the west-northward path and cross a suspension bridge over the Modi River. We walk through Deupur village. The trail is gently uphill until we reach Purna Gaun, where we spend our first night.
From Purna Gaun, we walk through villages and farming fields for about an hour before entering a forest and continuing to Lespar. We spend the night in a basic hotel.
Nagi is a traditional Nepalese village of Magars and Pun widely known for Gurkhas. But nowadays Nagi village is famous for Mr. Mahabir Pun, who is the pioneer of wireless internet in Nepal.
Trek mostly covers with green dense forest. We have a small tea shop with simple lunch offers near Himpal Pass. We will get the splendid wide views on both sides of trekking trail till the horizon. On the northern side, you will see might snow peaks, while green hills and plain valleys on the South.
The elevation gain is 1000 meters so it is mostly uphill walk. Mohare Danda is one of the best view point in Annapurna region trek.
Trek to Banthanti taking a off the beaten trail from Mohare Danda. Alternatively we can trek via famous Poon Hill and Ghorepani.to Banthati or if you feel fine you could trek further down to Ulleri / Tikhedunga / Hily. overnight in lodge.
After a leisure breakfast, we walk down to Birethanti on dort road. We take our car /cab to Pokhara from there that takes some 1.5 hours drive. Transfer to your hotel in Pokhara.
