Which are the best months to trek to Mardi Himal?
September and October are the best months to trek to Mardi and the second best months are March, April, and May. If you are trekking in April, it is the best time to see the Rhododendron blooming season. Autumn is the peak season and post-monsoon period due to which the surrounding Annapurna region becomes clear because of the summer rainfall. People still trek in winter (Dec to Feb) as well and it will be cold in higher places. Trekking in monsoon (mid-June to August) is wet and the view may be affected by monsoon rain. Leeches are so active in this area during the wet season.
Can I extend the trek itinerary if necessary?
If you are not sure of doing this trek just in 4 days; we are flexible to extend it by one or two days for your convenience. We also have a 6 to 7-day itinerary that allows you to walk at your own pace leisurely to enjoy the hike in nature as maybe this is your "Once in a Lifetime Experience" mountain holiday in Nepal.
Is this trek for you or how difficult is this trek?
Well, Mardi Himal Trek is classified as a medium-hard trek. But regular hikers find it easy. If you follow our 4-day itinerary, you will reach high camp – the highest (3780 m / 12398 ft) place you sleep and the next day early morning excursion to Mardi View Point at 4300 so this is a fast ascend and rapid descend but a super good trip for fitter trekkers.
Caution! The route follows a narrow valley and ridge trail. Many trekkers went missing including some Nepalese local trekkers. The trail is absolutely demanding climb till View Point. So, it is always advised to allow a few spare days for beginner and moderate trekkers in case you can not complete it in 4 days. Nevertheless, the trail is one of the most pleasing trekking routes in Nepal.
