Tamang Heritage and Langtang Trek is a fantastic trip to freshly discovered off the beaten trekking Trail to Tamang Heritage and to the legendary Langtang Valley which has long been famous as the third most popular trek in Nepal after Everest and Annapurna region. The Langtang region is as wild as any Tibetan highlands with a heavenly delightful countryside landscape and the rich cultural heritage of ethnic Tamang people. Despite being just a few hours drive from Kathmandu, the trek along off the beaten track of the remote and rugged mountains and the high passes dotted with some of the oldest religious monuments such as Buddhist stupas, chortens, prayers walls, and ancient Tamang monasteries and prayer flags flapping in the wind make every trekker marvel why the country is called a "trekker's paradise" a land of magic, meditation, and shamanism.
Langtang is also the region of lush green bamboo and rhododendron forests, splendid waterfalls, towering high peaks, and many sacred lakes, or what the devout practitioners call the "Kunda". Our 12 Days Tamang Heritage with Langtang Valley Trek Itinerary starts with a 5-6 hours jeep ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. The journey begins from Syabrubesi and passes through Gatlang, Tatopani, Thuman, and Briddim. We follow the classic Langtang Valley Trek from Briddim village via Kyanjin Gompa. Thuman is famous for its Shamanic performances and beautiful view of Langtang from every house in Thuman. Briddim allows firsthand experience of homestay and interacts with local families. In addition, Trekkers can also visit the local monasteries of Dukchu Gomba chosen as sacred sites by the great Tibetan Lama - Guru Rinpoche and Chukla Khnaga Gomba. In Kyanjin Gompa, you will visit ancient Buddhist monasteries and glaciers. Early in the morning, you will ascend Tserko Ri for a breath-stopping view of the Langtang Himalayan range.
