First, we go on the excursion of Chhuking Ri Peak and Patthar (5545m) which offers a close view of Mount Everest and the Khumbu Glacier. In Gokyo Valley we hike to Gokyo Peak (5357 m ) also called Gokyo Ri Viewpoint from where you can see the mesmerizing views of the Everest region - including Gokyo Lakes and the Ngozuma glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas.

Giant Himalayan Peaks including Mount Everest.

You are trekking in the Everest region, so you are witnessing giant Himalayan Peaks. Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world, and other several towering high peaks make it unbelievable.

Unique Sherpa Culture and Tibetan Buddhism Exploration.

Everest Three Passes Trek lies in the Solokhumbu district in eastern Nepal, home to the Sherpa people. The word “Sherpa” means people from the East. They are a direct descendant of Tibet some centuries ago having very unique traditions and lifestyles. The rich culture and the welcoming, friendly people from the region make your trek more enjoyable. One can visit Buddhist monasteries and spiritual centers while trekking on Everest. We will visit the region’s most active monastery at Tengboche. There are kanis (traditional Buddhist village entrance gate), prayer-engraved walks, and colorful prayer flags around Chhortens (a Tibetan Buddhist shrine or monument) along the route.

Turquoise lakes in Gokyo Valley.

The Gokyo Lakes are oligotrophic lakes situated between 4,700 and 5,000 meters above sea level in Nepal's Sagarmatha National Park. Gokyo Ri Peak inspired the namesakes of lakes and resorts. These six main lakes, the largest of which is Thonak Lake, make up the world's highest freshwater lake system. Buddhists and Hindus alike place great religious importance on the sacred Gokyo lakes. Twice a year, these lakes serve as a haven for migrating birds making their way across the Himalayas. In addition, Gokyo is well known for being a Ramsar site and the highest altitude ice skating range in the world.

Sagarmatha National Park and Himalayan Wildlife.

The Everest three-pass trek is within the Sagarmatha National Park, home to many endangered wildlife. You might spot gorgeous animals on the trek through the pine and rhododendron forests, such as musk deer, Himalayan tahr, and pheasants. There are very few and extremely rare species of animals on Mount Everest. Snow leopards, Himalayan bears, Himalayan gorals, red pandas, Himalayan Tahrs, and other creatures are among those that can be found atop Mount Everest. The snow leopard is a huge cat seen in the wild that is endemic to the Highlands.

The fall, from September to November, is the busiest season for both Everest Base Camp and the Three Passes Trek. Spring, which runs from March to May, is the second most popular season and the busiest time of year for Everest climbers. Useful Information

Nepal Government Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has announced an issue for the flight operation to Lukla. Most of the flights to Lukla will diverted from Manthali at Ramechhap until further notice to avoid the serious traffic congestion in Kathmandu airport. The airport in Ramechhap is located 130km from Kathmandu (approximately 4 hours drive).

As an alternative, helicopter arrangements can be made on 5 people sharing basis with the addition of USD 500 for one way flight per person to change your airplane flights to the helicopter. We will try to coordinate and figure out groups at the airport for this arrangement, but we cannot promise it. The drive to Ramechhap and flight to Lukla is almost always guaranteed unless the flight is canceled due to bad weather situation.

Travelers are requested to inform us on the preferred alternatives for the flights to/from Lukla affected due to possible delays or disruptions.

    FAQs

It requires previous trekking experience in the Himalayas or Alps to be in good physical shape. If you are not well acclimated and need to make yourself fitter, then Wilderness Excursion suggests you start the trek lower at Phaplu (see our Phaplu to Namche Bazaar Everest Base Camp Trek). This trek is not technical, but sometimes it may require some basic equipment, such as an ice gripper, an ice axe, and trekking poles if you are trekking in late October, November, or early March.

Best time to trek to Everest three passes is September and early October and from Mid March to June. Trekking in November is still not bad. Heavy snowfall blocks the trail and warn to go back so check the weather forecast before heading to trail head.

Monsoon rain may affect the views if you are trekking in June, July and August. Lukla flights may get delayed and cancelled in rainy season. Everest region gets extremely busy during the month of April from mountaineering expedition teams.

Nepal is the country where trekking duration is measured in days, so the Three Passes Trek, aka Everest Ultimate Trek’s length depends on from where you start the trek. Still many people start this trek at Jiri and walk to Lukla/Namche. Also, you could start this trek from Phaplu. Then your trek will be some three weeks long or more. We also offer tailored-made itineraries that suit your requirements.

But our standard itinerary will be anticlockwise to allow for proper acclimatization by planning crossing Kongma La first, you can climb to high elevation at a sensible rate and incorporate at least two acclimatization hikes into your itinerary if necessary.

Trekking in Everest does not require a hiring guide mandatory. You are trekking in the region's most epic area that provides the best scenery, glacier lakes, high mountain passes, and the best view ever, but equally, it can be unsafe if you miss the right track and other possible hazards that may lead to serious problem. Wilderness Excursion strongly suggests hiring a guide. Safe and Happy Trek

Wilderness Excursion highly advises our clients doing an adventure trekking in Nepal that should cover emergency air evacuations up to the highest trek altitude and medical expenses. Helicopter evacuation is compulsory as there are no sufficient treatment centers in the trek region.

The weather conditions in the Everest region, particularly the Three Passes, vary by time of year. The daytime temperatures at higher altitudes can vary from 0°C to 10°C (32°F to 50°F) during the hiking seasons, which are spring and autumn. Temperatures can drop dramatically during the night, particularly at high passes. At Everest BC, wintertime lows of -18°C are not uncommon. The midday high in the summer can reach about 20°C.

Most visitors can obtain a tourist visa at different Nepali border entry points or upon arrival at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. Some nationals nonetheless are not eligible for an on-arrival visa; therefore, they need to get in touch with the nearest Nepali embassy.
