Nepal´s restricted and controlled areas mentioned below require special trekking permits as per state law. If you plan to trek in two different areas, two trekking permits are required.

Manaslu Trekking Permit: 

September-November: USD 100.00 for 7 days per person and after 7 days USD 15.00 per person.
December-August: USD 75.00 for 7 days per person and after 7 days USD 10.00 per person. 
In addition, you will need ACAP and MCAP Permits that cost NPR 3000.00 each permit per person. 

Tsum Valley Trek: 

September-November USD 40.00 per person/week. After 7 days it is USD 7 per day
December-August USD 30.00 per person/week. After 7 days it is USD 7 per day
In addition, you will need MCAP Permits that cost NPR 3000.00 

Nar Phu Valley Permit

September - November USD 100 per week per person and December - August USD 75 per week per person. After 7 days it is USD 15 / day/person.
Also; you will need an ACAP Permit that costs NPR 3000 per person as you will be entering the Annapurna Conservation Area.

Dolakha District

Lamabagar Ward No.1 (Lapchi Village) Gaurishanker Ward No. 1 (Beding 9 and Chhorolpa Lake area):
Per week per person USD 20.00

Humla District:

Simikot and Yari (Areas of Limi and Muchu village Development Committee, and area way to Tibet via Tangekhola of Darma Village Development committee) 
First 7 days: USD 50.00 and after 7 days: USD 10.00 per day per person

SANKHUWASABHA (Areas of Kimathanka, Chepuwa,Hatiya and Pawakhola VDCs) 
For the first four weeks, USD 20 per person per week, and After four weeks, USD 25 per person per week or equivalent convertible foreign currency.

Kanchanjanga Region (Areas of Olangchung Gola, Lelep, Papung and Yamphudin VDCs)
US$ 20 per week per person or equivalent convertible foreign currency.

BAJHANG DISTRICT (Areas of Kanda, Saipal and Dhuli) 
For the first 7 days, USD 90 per person, and After seven days USD 15 per day per person or equivalent convertible foreign currency.

DARCHULA DISTRICT (Areas of Byas VDC)
For the first 7 days, USD 90 per person, and after 7 days USD 15 per day per person or equivalent convertible foreign currency.

MUGU DISTRICT (Areas of Mugu, Dolpu, Pulu and Bhangri)
For the first 7 days USD 90 per person and beyond 7 days USD 15 per day per person or equivalent convertible foreign currency.

TIMS Card

To get a group trekking permit an application form with other relevant documents should be submitted through the registered trekking agency in Nepal and the Trekking fee can be paid in Nepalese currency. As for new rules, a new trekking pass TIMS (Trekkers´ Information Management System) card is required to trek in all the major trekking areas along with a National Park entrance permit. Which is NPR 2000.00 equivalent to Nepalese Rupees 2000.00 per person. SAARC countries have to pay Rs 300 for TIMS cards, while FITs from the SAARC region have to pay Rs 1500 each. Children under 10 years of age do not require trekking permits, and children above 10 need trekking permits, and the cost remains same as for adults. We, Wilderness Excursion Pvt. Ltd arranges trekking permits accordingly before our trekking and tour departure.

TIMS will not be required for:

  • Expedition members permitted to climb the mountains
  • Visitors in the controlled areas with permits by the Department of Immigration
  • Foreign guests invited by the Government of Nepal
  • Authorities from the various diplomatic missions present in the country, who hold official letter/s and travel at their own risk
  • Visitors on certain missions recommended by the concerned Governmental Department(s);
  • Children under 10 years of age.

Also, you may not need a National Park entrance ticket but that may require a reference letter from the Department of National Park and Wild Life Conservation if you are:

  • Foreign guests invited by the Government of Nepal
  • Authorities from the various diplomatic missions present in the country, who hold official letter/s and travel at their own risk
  • Visitors on certain missions recommended by the concerned Governmental Department(s);
  • Children under 10 years of age.
