Gelmu Lama Sherpa is originally from Lower Khumbu of Ddhkunda and the Pikey Peak area and has profound knowledge of trekking, as she has been working as a guide for decades and joined Wilderness Excursions in 2023. She is one of the passionate and experienced female trekking leaders, very enthusiastic to work in mountain tourism and trekking as a female guide in the Himalayas. Her passion and desire to be in this field have been going on for over several years. She takes great pride, pleasure, and excitement in introducing clients to the wonderful cultures and landscapes of amazing Nepal. Beyond her technical skills, Gelmu brings a warm, empathetic approach to every journey, ensuring that trekkers feel safe, encouraged, and deeply connected to the local Sherpa heritage. She believes that empowering more women in guiding roles can transform the industry, and she actively mentors younger female aspirants.
